How Do You Make a Splash on YouTube?

How Do You Make a Splash On YouTube?

Do you remember when Casey Neistat was vlogging everyday on YouTube?

What about David Dobrik? How about Airrack trying to get 1 Million Subs in a year or Ryan Trahan’s Penny series?

Each of these were SEASONS of YouTube that felt very unified. It seemed as if everyone and their mother knew about them.

Why?

Because they were GENRE DEFINING Creators.

Each of them spawned a new style of content that hundreds of others have copied and implemented into their own editing style/idea creation.

Not only that, but they are so influential because they feel like ERA ESTABLISHING pieces of content.

Some YouTubers are able to create internet events. A digital shift in perspectives.

In order to make a splash, to grow quickly, and to become somewhat of a “household YouTube name”, you have to do something that is meta defining.

Yeah That’s Cool But, How Do I Do This?

I think a lot of this could come down to Editing Style…

Alex Hormozi. Dan Koe. Ryan Trahan. Mr. Beast. Ali Abdaal. Iman Gadzhi.

Each of these people’s styles are so UNIQUE that other people USE them as stylistic descriptions when hiring editors.

You want to think outside the box and come up with your OWN style alongside your editor.

Don’t just copy someone else’s style for your own content… make your OWN and DEFINE a new era in your niche!

Here’s a few questions you can ask your current editor(s) or ones you plan to hire in the future:

  • Who is your favorite YouTuber and what do you like about their style?
  • What do you think [creator in your niche] could be doing better?
  • Do you have any ideas on how I can get my point across better so that’s easier to edit?

If your editor doesn’t have good answers for these questions, it might be time for you to find someone who isn’t just an editor, but also a creative strategist.

Tomorrow I’m gonna be breaking down what we can learn from “The Sixth Sense” to make better videos…
