It’s Comments… just get more comments
3 Steps to Planning a JOOCY Short:
- Think of your PREMISE
- Create a Hook
- Find the “X Factor”
Now what does this all mean here?
Premise
Most people who make videos barely even figure out step number 1…
Their premise is usually REALLY bad… and I mean BAD! They think the video matters to their audience because it matters to them… this is absolutely not the case.
The Premise is always answered like this: could someone explain what I’m doing in this video as “the guy that_____”
- “That’s the guy that gives away money”
- “That’s the guy that calls girls dads and asking them for consent to marry”
- “That’s the guy who’s SUPER HOT and POPULAR”
You get the idea. Keep it Simple Stupid.
Hook
Everyone talks about this but yet we still forget about it.
Your hook is the “short form video” version of Title/Thumbnail.
If no one listens to the hook… they won’t watch your video.
X Factor
I’m going to go out on a limb here: All your videos under 500 views don’t have more than 5 comments.
I’m also gonna guess that most of your GOOD videos (over 10k views) have MORE than 50 comments!
Why?
Comments help give your video life. They make people engage with your content. Whenever there is an active and entertaining comment section on a video, we stay to explore. To read. To react.
Comments help 10x a videos performance IMMEDIATELY.
But how do you get comments?
You HAVE to think about “what is your content’s X Factor?”
What is the underlying theme/idea/action that takes place in your video that can get someone to comment?
This is always going to be something polarizing.
- Political
- Health related
- Black and White Topics
- Religion
- Belief Systems
Now, does this mean YOU have to be polarizing? Absolutely not.
YOU don’t have to come out and talk about any of these… you just have to have them be a part of the video.
Hope this helps
