The Real Reason YouTube Feels So Bland Right Now

PSY Was Ahead of His Time

PSY Was Ahead of His Time

Good morning, son. Can I get a Go Dawgs?

I’m waiting.

…

Okay. Thank you. Thank you.

LISTEN, today we’re going to talk about probably one of the most important things that no one ever focuses on (really).

This is why certain videos have BILLIONS of views on YouTube. This is the sole reason:

5 Billion Views is CRAZY

Music videos. Party Rock Anthem. Oppa Gangnam Style. These are all videos that have billions of views.

I Don’t Make Music Videos, Dino…

I know, I know, but hang tight. Lemme ask you this:

Why do they have so many views?

Mr. Beast averages a hundred million views a video (which is a ton) — but think about it, that is 1/10th of a billion. You would need to watch his video 900 million more times in order to reach a billion.

Okay But WHY Do They Get a Billion+ Views? Stop Beating Around the Bush

You ready? Here it is…

It is because they are rewatchable.

Imagine instead of fighting for 1 Million viewers to watch your video all the way through once, you focused on figuring out how to get 100k viewers to watch it 10 times.

What made early 2000s, mid 2010s such a golden era of YouTube is because people just re watched stuff over and over again.

The Solution:

Let’s try and swing back the pendulum a bit. Instead of focusing on retaining ONE person… let’s open our minds and think through how we can make content that get’s REWATCHED 2, 3, 5, or 10 TIMES!

You end up 10xing the potential of your video, growing your relationship with an audience, and getting more views (with less work).

Tomorrow I’m gonna walk through what TYPES of videos YOU can make that are rewatchable (;
