Let me share something with you:
Every Single Viral Video Follows 3 Steps
and here it is:
Step 1: Ask the question, “What is the payoff?”
People are too busy to spend time on your silly little video that is boring and simple. Ask yourself, “what is a selfish reason someone may want to watch your video?”
Could be a punchline, a promise, or knowledge.
Step 2: Figure out “Can you communicate and PROMISE the payoff in the first 2 seconds of the video?”
You can do this a few ways:
- Be clear. Get your hook down to one sentence
- Be fast. Practice speaking your hook FASTER than normal so that you can say it in the first second
- Use text. Use the caption/title and some words on screen to help give people more context.
Step 3: Find out “What’s the Story?”
Why is this even important? Why is it important for you? Why is it important for the viewer?
What is difficult about it? What’s easy? What will happen if you succeed? Why does it matter at all?
Add some SPICE to the mix to make it engaging and keep the viewers hooked.
